Art is quite a very broad term. Throughout centuries, it has gone through different meanings to different people. Art is quite complex as it is transcending cultures, language and time. Art in Movies?

Telling a Story

Every artist tries to tell a story or express their thoughts or emotions through their art.

Humans are communicating by stories and movies can tell various emotions to the audience and be able to connect with the viewers on different levels. Similar to a good photo or painting, movies might mean something totally different on the viewer.

Filmmaking Uses Skills Specific to the Craft

For as far as movies have been discovered, filmmakers are looking for new ways of improving technology to make their final film. The world of cinema literally created totally unique skill sets that are made strictly for cinema. Similar to inventing paintbrush, filmmakers hired technicians and scientist artist from different backgrounds in order to come up with tools that are necessary in making props, editing, shooting scenes, adding sound, adding visual effects, production and distribution.

Granted, these tools have been put into use in several other forms of media. Still, all these tools started to provide solutions to filmmaker’s challenges.

The replica of the 1984 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car, has gone missing and believed to have been stolen after it was displayed at the city of Lucca in Italy. Although it was only a replica, it was owned by a French fan named Eric Robin who spent more than ten years to locate and acquire the car and another two years to convert and restore it.

The replica car was actually discovered in his homeland in France, being used as a hearse by three villages before he came to own it. Recently, the car was shipped to Italy as part of a promotional tour of the forthcoming Ghostbuster: Afterlife movie. Fresh from a rust detailing job, the car is considered special as it is one of the few 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor replicas still in good running condition in Europe.

After the unfortunate event, Sony cancelled all schedules that included the car’s appearance, whilst calling on the italian public to immediately get in touch with them if they spot the vehicle. After all, stealing such a peculiar car can be difficult to accomplish without getting noticed. Some are even speculating that Ecto-1’s disappearance is all part of the promotional scheme to draw attention to the Ghostbuster : Afterlife movie slated for theater-showing worldwide on November 18.

About Ghostbusters : Afterlife

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a threequel to Ghostbusters franchise that is set for theater release on November 18. The original Ghostbuster was a hit because it was filled with special effects that were rare during that time that combined with comedy. Based on the movie’s marketing, it seems like the Ghostbusters: Afterlife is just Ghostbusters III with hints of popular shows like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Stranger Things.

The director is Ghostbusters (1984) director Ivan Reitman’s first son Jason Reitman. The movie features Mckenna Grace as the granddaughter of science wiz Egon Spengler. The present Spengler family relocated to a small town, but they seemed to have awaken a supernatural force that will lead to events that will turn them into the new breed of Ghostbusters. The film is filled with references to the 1984 movie and maybe even include cameo appearances except from the late Harold Ramis and the reclusive actor Rick Moranis.

By the time you begin to learn about art styles and movements, it becomes pretty common to be confused about contemporary and modern art. Words like “modern” and “contemporary” are interchangeably used in describing something new or is on trend.

What is Modern and Contemporary?

Modern is often used in describing the recent or present times rather than the remote past. With this in mind, it is a fair assumption that modern art was recently created. But this isn’t the case. Modern art is referring to artworks produced throughout a specific time in the past. Believe it or not, many popular examples of modern art are nearly 200 years old.

When talking about art that is of the present, what we actually mean is contemporary art. Contemporary is the right term to use when describing art of the present time, or frequently, those made by living artists.

Differences between Contemporary and Modern

Contemporary and modern art came from different time periods. The latter is in reference to art that is made from the 1880s all the way to 1970s. Modern art is more recent compared to the classical or Renaissance period. It’s by no means the latest.

With contemporary art on the other hand, it can be described as the present work of art. Normally, those who are still creating arts and alive or those who’ve recently retired or died.

The Focus of each Medium

With modern art, it is mainly on painting or drawing. On the other hand, the rapid increase in technology has significantly changed the available mediums to contemporary artists since the time when the modernist period has ended. In fact, art is not only limited to tangible artwork pieces but you can also see one in form of digital arts, which perhaps can be seen in Minecraft survival servers.

Today, contemporary artists are bolder with their mediums. Just as mentioned, it can be any medium that you can ever think of from object design, video art, graphic arts, tech-enabled/digital artworks and so forth. However, since you’re friends along with your photographer/videographer, it couldn’t hurt to ask her what program she accustomed edit and building your wedding video files. For you to be able to also watch the file on your Windows PC, ask if she will install that program onto your computer.

As for not having the ability to repeat the files over to your PC from the DVD: this could be the result of how the DVD was burned (i.e. ripped) to disc by your videographer friend.

Often, DVDs get written with some form of copy protection built into the files, which prohibits third parties from copying or accessing those files. That’s presumably the cause here.

As such, the simplest way around this is often to contact your videographer friend once more and ask her to burn a non-write-protected version of the DVD for you. Alternately, you’ll also ask if she will copy the source files onto a USB or other medium in order that you’ll copy the files to your PC.
