fondazione march, in collaboration with signaletic:for art presents the new initiative "myFolder", a fresh novelty in the field of wide-spread promotion for Italian and International artists’ production.
signaletic, planning and design firm, following a few collaborations with the contemporary art foundation and its artists, set itself the goal of creating a block of travelling cases for works to be consulted and bought, capable of combining quality, novelty and accessibility for a vast audience.
The aim is to offer selected works of art to diverse and changing audiences, curious unlookers coming to our premises to see the archives, foreign visitors who will be able to look though the drawers abroad, digital visitors who will navigate the site dedicated to the works.
How it works.
In a few centimeters, each selected artist will be invited to collect and constantly update drawings, thin or semi-flat sculptures, photographs, collage, video, audio and notepads, with no limits in technique or media, as long as dimensions and height of all works of art by each artist fit inside the drawers (125 cm large x 90 cm deep x 4 cm high).
The various works can be consulted and bought by the public both at the foundation and on line.
The project sets itself up as a valid and dynamic alternative to create small private collections and new gift ideas.
A section of the archive - Travelling – will be mobile thus allowing the works of art and relative exhibitions to touch other areas of Italy and beyond, hosted by other independent spaces and art galleries.
Take part in the selection.
Selections of works will be carried out at the end of each season (see calendar below) and consist in two stages.
The first stage is open to all artists of any age and nationality – their works will be evaluated through the stills and pics received via web. During the second stage all works will be submitted to the organizers who will then select a total of 5 artists – once they receive their drawer they will be called upon to manage their own space according to the rules of the agreement.
Send a few explanatory photographs of your works, in JPG format (max 5 pictures for a max of 4 MB total) to myfolder@signaletic.it
Do not forget to attach your contact details and a brief text (800 characters maximum including spaces) on the works you intend to present for your myFolder archive.
When the first stage of selections is over, if your works have been selected, you’ll be called within the following month for a meeting at fondazione march and for the second stage: 5 new artists will become part of the myFolder archive, signing a buy-sell contract for all works kept inside their drawer.
